Football Weekly Free Bet Clubs

Free bet clubs are a great way to get long term value when wagering on football. The vast majority of clubs are open to football and in most cases to all sports.

The concept is quite simple: you need to place a certain amount in bets every week (generally in the region of £25), and in return, you will get a free bet that will reward your loyalty. Free bets are usually in the region of 20% of the total qualifying stakes. For regular punters, this can be a tremendous amount of value over a long period.

All free bet clubs are visible in our loyalty section. You will also find free bet clubs for accumulators in addition to the ones for single bets. Considering that there is a vast choice available it makes complete sense to join a free bet club especially if you are betting every week on football. Another positive of free bets clubs is that they won’t stop you from receiving other offers as well so it is all added value for your footy wagers.

Football Betting Guide

Void Bets – Singles

Football

Football wagers are usually voided when a game is either postponed or abandoned for some reason. In this case, you get your bet refunded in cash. If the game, however, kicks off and it is then abandoned some betting markets might still stand.

Let’s say for example that you are betting on a player to score the first goal. After some time the game is called off. Some bookmakers will still consider this bet to stand however the majority will refund your bets regardless of the betting market if the game is abandoned. It is therefore important to read the terms before betting.

Void Bets – Accumulators

It is essential to pay particular attention to void bets when doing accumulators even more if you are taking advantage of an acca insurance or acca bonus. If one of the selections of your accumulator is voided, then your acca will still run even without one selection.

Let’s say that you are doing a 5 fold acca to take advantage of an acca insurance that is only on 5+ acca. If one selection is declared voided, your total acca will become a 4-fold and for this reason will not qualify for the acca insurance anymore.

If you are taking advantage of a bonus offer, this will drop down to the tier below in case of void.

Enhanced odds multiple bets are treated differently when there are void selections. Let’s imagine you are getting a 4/1 for three teams to win (normal odds being 3/1) and one game is voided. In this situation, you will be left with a double but since this is an enhanced multiple, the whole bet will be voided or it might carry on but at the raw price without the boost.

Own Goals, 0-0 Draw and No Goalscorer

euro2020

You shouldn’t bet on a 0-0 draw! The reason is that if there is an own goal in a 0-0 draw it will count in the result and you will lose your bet. It is much better, in this case, to bet on ‘no goalscorer’ instead. Usually, the odds on 0-0 and no goalscorer are the same but no goalscorer carries more value as it will typically not include own goals. If you wish to bet on an own goal you will generally find a separate market with the biggest bookmakers for this.

Goalscorer Final Decision

When a goal is scored there might be some uncertainty as to who the goal will be attributed to. This decision can affect lots of betting markets. Bookmakers will stand by the final official decision and, when necessary, they might need a panel in order to decide the outcome. If this happens, your bet will be placed on hold until a final decision will be made. In case you have already received a payout from the bookmaker then, even if the decision will be changed, you will be allowed to keep your winnings.

Related Contingencies

There are lots of related contingencies in football, but what does exactly mean? Basically, those are two outcomes that can influence each other and are considered as related. For this reason, you cannot combine two events like this into multiple bets.

Let’s say for example that you bet on a player to score first and also on that team to win in a double. A bookmaker will not accept you such a bet in this current form as it is clear that if a player will score, it will also influence the final result. For this reason, betting sites are offering those types of bets like scorecasts and wincasts. In those markets, they do consider related contingencies and factor those into the odds.

Match Result

Bookmakers are making money by balancing their book. In this way they secure a profit regardless of the outcome of an event. The bigger a market is or the more skewed the betting the more difficult is for the bookmaker to balance the book. This is why in some cases betting sites are factoring in higher margins.

Big betting markets typically have the best value for some reasons. First of all, only three outcomes are possible which are win draw win. This makes it easier for betting site to have a balanced book. When needed betting sites also offset the overexposure on exchanges or they might use wholesale bookmakers.

Since this bet type is very popular, betting sites are keen to use it to attract players. For this reason, they tend to lower their margins: in some cases, they are even happy to run these bets at a cost to secure more players.

If you are a high stakes punter the match result will also provide you with the highest payout limits: some betting sites are going all the way up to £2 million!

Both Teams to Score

new-wembley

Both teams to score is another good value bet and a market that has seen lots of growing popularity since the arrival of online betting. Both Teams To Score and Both Teams To Score Plus Match Result are very good value as similarly to match result bets, there are only a few outcomes possible. This is why bookmakers can offer competitive odds. You will see that lots of BTTS offers either in the form of money back or free bets are currently being offered by lots of bookmakers.

Punters also like those markets as effectively it doesn’t matter who is going to win as long as there are goals (or not) from both teams.

Other Markets

As you would expect there are also other betting markets where the is poor value for money for punters. All those markets where there are many different outcomes can be included in this category like goalscorer, HT/FT bets, Correct score and so on. Bookmakers find it hard to balance exposure and for this reason, they tend to increase their margins to reduce the risks.

This is also why you will also find several money back offers and free bet deals as bookmakers make more profit from those markets on average.

Special Bets

Champions League Offers

Special bets are the poorest type of bets in regards to value. The odds are significantly lower if compared with the possibility of an outcome to occur. Sometimes odds might seem big (ie. 25/1 for player A and B both to score and player B to be sent off) but in reality, the chances of the event happening are significantly lower then the odds would suggest. Unless you are particularly convinced about a special bet you should avoid those betting markets as in the longer term the margin will be too much in the bookmaker’s favour.

Accumulators

Accumulators are generally poor value. That doesn’t mean you should stop doing them as they can be great fun and when you win the payoff can be significantly higher than your initial stake. When you are adding selections into an acca you are effectively adding bookmaker margin from every selection. Let’s say that you have a 5 fold acca and on every team the bookmaker margin is 3%. This means that your overall accumulator will have a margin of 15% for the bookie (5×3).

Now you understand why almost every single betting site is offering some accumulator offer or money back promotion. They are not doing so because they feel to be overly generous but because they have such a high margin on acca bets that they can afford to be competitive and give away some to their customers.

It is therefore important that if you do place regular football acca you take full advantage of the high-value promotions out there. You can get more information about that in our accumulator offers page where you will find acca bonuses, acca insurances and acca free bet clubs offers.

Football History & Rules

Football is the most popular sport out there. More and more people are attracted to football and the most important leagues are followed across the world.

In this section, we will take a look at the history of football and also what are the main competition that are played regularly. We will also take a look at some of the most important rules of the sport.

Football History

Almost every civilisation in the past had a game that was involving kicking a ball with their feet. The modern football game, however, was a mixture of rugby and the current football. Rules were written in the 1850s and the Football Association Challenge Cup started officially in 1871. It wasn’t however until 1877 that in England a complete set of rules were decided and from that point on football was not anymore a hybrid with Rugby. Since then there were some minor changes introduced like for example the penalty in 1891 and the offside in 1925. Generally speaking, though the football rules were established in 1877 and since then the sport started to increase in popularity.

Rules of Football

We will keep things simple here as you can always read online more details rules about the game. Football is a game with 11 players per team. One of the players has to be a goalkeeper. Players can only pass the ball using their feet but other parts of the body are also allowed like the head. Hands and arms are not allowed to touch the ball.

The team that score more goals during the game will be the winner. Regular matches will last for 90 minutes but there might be added times and penalties if in a cup competition the regular times will end with a tie. In most leagues, winners of a game are given 3 points, 1 point for a draw and none for a defeat.

The referee can caution players: those can be shown a yellow card for a minor offence or a red card for a major offence. Two yellow cards are equal to a red card with the player that will have to leave the game. That’s it, this is the very shortened version of how football is played. As you can see the basics of the game are really easy to understand and this is one reason why it has become so popular all over the world.

Main Football Competitions

european cup

As we have mentioned before, football is a very popular sport all around the world. For this reason, every continent has its own competition. European competitions, however, are significantly more popular and usually are followed around the world. Some of the main competitions are:

The FA Cup – this is the oldest club competition in the whole world. It takes place in England every year and it is open to professional and not professional teams. The format is knockout rounds.
